Can someone tell me HOW trying to be greener (and cheaper in the long run - green bulbs live longer!) and phase out the wasteful incandescent bulbs is a infringing on our rights?

Is this like a mortal terror sort of thing? Really?

I heard it's because "people don't want the government telling them how to light their houses", to quote a news radio station that was also doing a segment on the lightbulbs.

To me it just reeks of the whole DA GUBBERMINT IS TAKIN AWAY OUR FREEDOMZ -thing going on. I guess some people just have to complain about everything and believe whatever they want to believe....which is sad and stagnating, in my opinion. At least be a little bit more open-minded.

Aren't the majority of folks switching to the more efficient anyway? I know my apartment is full of the more efficient bulbs just because I want to save money on my electric bill. This just sounds so stupid >_> But my coworker would agree. He thinks the government has NO place in telling the populous to do ANYTHING, even when it comes to light bulbs. I mean, he's all for deregulating everything, including getting rid of the FDA, EPA, etc.
